ADULT WOMEN BELLY DANCE & SAMBA
10 WEEK COURSE MONDAYS AT 7
BELLY DANCE: JAN. 16, 23, 30, FEB. 6, 13
SAMBA: FEB. 20, 27, MAR. 5, 12, 19
This 10 week course is a  combination of  2 forms of dance.
Belly Dance:
Introduction to belly dancing, designed to teach you proper technique, give you a great work out without counting calories, and above all, to have fun! This dance was created for women by women so it is the most natural movement and will not hurt your joints. We will be dancing with both contemporary and traditional belly dance music and learning to interpret the rhythms through the body. Step by step, you will learn the vocabulary of basic belly dance movements, improve your flexibility, coordination and posture, while learning the ancient art of belly dance.
Samba:
Samba is a contagious, highly-syncopated rhythm and dance from Brazil that expresses joy, freedom and the warm, open spirit of Brazilian culture. Samba is energetic but it can also be elegant, sensual and playful. If you have seen images from the Brazilian Carnaval, you probably have seen samba no pe with it's trademark large feather head pieces and elaborate costumes. It is a fun amazing workout!
Taught by Valeria with Valeria Entertainment!

Founded in 2008 by professional dancer and choreographer Tina Casula Gross, Broadway Performing Arts Center has quickly become a neighborhood mainstay with steadily rising enrollment rosters.
Children are introduced to a variety of dance styles including classical ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop

Recognizing that the Washington Heights/Inwood community was under served compared with other parts of the city in performing arts venues for children, Tina Casula Gross was motivated to bring her vast experience and talent to the kids of Upper Manhattan.  Boasting an annual dance recital replete with top of the line costumes, Broadway Performing Arts Center is gaining momentum as the premier dance experience for the children of our neighborhood.
